The RAE Foundation is pleased to support From Rising Sun to Sappers Sleep, an initiative led by Mr Sean Mulqueen, a retired Sapper. The initiative’s primary focus is to inspire Wounded, Injured and Ill men and women that have left Defence to never give up, understand that things can be tough but keep getting up and stepping forward to find a purpose. The initiative is also raising awareness and fundraising to support our sappers.

From Rising Sun to Sappers Sleep is a run from the 2nd Combat Engineer Regiment, Brisbane, to Jacob ‘Snowy’ Moorelands home town of Gayndah. The 323 kilometre run will be conducted from 18-24 April 2016. The challenge is representative of the physical and emotional challenges that plague our wounded, injured and ill, in particular those transitioning from Defence. It recognises that life has many challenges and that you need to keep moving forward. The challenge recognises that it is okay to have a bad hour, a bad day or a bad month but with effort and persistence you can overcome life’s obstacles.
